Common Snapping Turtle / Tortue serpentine (Chelydra serpentina)
 Tortue serpentine / Common Snapping Turtle (Chelydra serpentina) - Photo by Steve Troletti This is by far the largest turtle I’ve seen in the wild in Canada, Its shell measured just over two feet long. Unfortunately the opportunity to photograph this turtle was on a dark cloudy day in the woods. The low light situation, Mosquitoes and dense vegetation made it hard to get a good set of interesting photos. The nasty attitude of this turtle combined with powerful snapping action made it ever so difficult to clear the visual obstacles in front of its head. I decided to rely on a little Photoshop instead of loosing a finger!
