… and then the STORM Rolled in
... and then the STORM Rolled in - Photo by Steve Troletti
After a day of record breaking heat the evening brought in thunderstorms and heavy rains…
Early evening on Thursday July 21, 2011 a large mushroom cloud started forming in the south. It was very similar to those I’ve observed in the desert east of Los Angeles. After forming for an hour or so it created a lightning storm within the cloud that never seemed to hit ground. The electrical storm lasted for about an hour and a half as it headed south east.
This cell was followed in from the North with a greater depression bringing in thunder, lightning, high winds and record breaking precipitation rates.
